PDF Curriculum vitae

I received my BFA from UF's Department of Fine Arts in May 1996 and my MS in entomology in August 2006. My MS thesis research was a taxonomic revision and phylogenetic analysis of the longhorn beetle tribe Curiini (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Cerambycinae). The Curiini are a medium-sized tribe which currently consists of two genera and 31 species with a mostly Caribbean distribution. Like many insect species in the Caribbean, the Curiini exhibit a high rate of endemism; most Curiini species are restricted in their natural range to a particular island in the West Indies. My revision and phylogenetic analysis was the first undertaken for this tribe and is important to our understanding of West Indian biodiversity because much of the Caribbean is suffering from rapid deforestation.

In January 2007, I began my doctoral research at the University of New Mexico (Kelly Miller Lab).
