Research
I am currently working on my B.S. in Zoology at the University of Florida. I began my research experience at UF in Animal Behavior. I worked on an aquaculture project examining the effects of acoustic stress on Lined Seahorses (Hippocampus erectus). My current work is in the Branham Laboratory at the University of Florida, where I am working on a Damselfly (Odonata: Zygoptera) Phylogentics project. My focus is on the South and Central American Flatwings (Family Megapodagrionidae). Previous higher order analyses of the order Odonata have shown this family to be grossly poly- and paraphyletic. My research seeks to combine morphological and molecular evidence into a phylogenetic analysis that will allow us to better understand the relatedness within Megapodagrionidae, as well as where it lies within the phylogeny of Odonata.

Personal
The outdoors and the environment have always been my greatest love. Since I came to college, my biggest duty outside of school has been UF's Travel and Recreation Program. I have been a TRiP leader there for 2 years, and lead students on backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking and whitewater rafting trips across the southeast. When I am not working in the lab or for TRiP, I enjoy going on personal backpacking and rock climbing trips as often as possible.
